I am from Brazil , raised catholic and my greek boyfriend was raised orthodox. We both do not care much about religions, but our families do. My family insists in a traditional catholic wedding, and his family insists in a traditional orthodox wedding.
Any suggestions about what we should do??
Thank YouGreek orthodox, brazilian catholic? Wedding advice...?
Surely there must be something in common between orthodox and catholic so yes, it would be a great idea to meet both sets of parents, the bride and groom and even the 2 priests representing each sect and see if there is a way to make it work for everybody. I think Jesus is the same for the two...?Greek orthodox, brazilian catholic? Wedding advice...?
hi there
if you both don't care about religion then why don't you sit both sets of parents down and tell them that its ur wedding and ur not doing either have a nice beach wedding :) or on the other hand have two weddings if you can not afford two then tell the parents that if they want you both to have your traditional wedding then they have to pay for it
good luck but remember its urs and ur mans day not theirs
Convert to Eastern Orthodoxy, marry and raise your children in Easter (Greek) Orthodox Church
