But as I have got older and wiser I have found that I would like to further my Spiritual Journey To God and in a few years time when the family is grown I would love to involve myself with the church more maybe go onto some missionary work helping others!
Any advice how I would do this and how I can further develop My spiritual journey and relationship with God???

Like you, my spouse and I are catholics who go to mass regularly and receive the Holy Sacrament. And like you, we were searching for other ways that add more spirituality to our Christian life.
One way might be to join a Christian community (this is what I did), another way might be to become an associate of a monastery, for example a Benedictine oblate (this is what my spouse is about to do). This does not mean to become a monk or nun, but to be allowed and able to share the life in a monastery for several days, take part in their prayers and spirituality, listen to lessons etc. This may enhance and deepen your spirituality, as it does for us.
Just google a Benedictine congregation in your area, and send them a mail or give them a call. You may start with the link below.

You could join a third order, which is like being an auxiliary member to a convent or monastery. You would be given specific prayers to say each day and also have certain rules such as things like fasting more often. You could also join a lay organization like Opus Dei.

I think it is great that you want to serve God more after you raise your family. But can i pose you a question. Do you know God at this point or just the catholic concept of God! You may think a somewhat odd Question! But I would desire that you indeed know God in a great way and that you come to have a deepening walk with him. But in order to due that first and formost you have to be saved / born again. That does not happen at the hands of a earthly priest. It is done by Grace and grace alone at repentance and asking Jesus for forgiveness. The catholic church is all nice and pretty. But they incorperate such things in there faith that you must question all they teach. I recommend that you get a bible not a roman catholic bible, and really study and read it. I know God for good better or worst me and he are joined at the hip. I be born again and my salvation is sure. Of course I have the trials of job to prove my walk and I can struck a man dead with a single word God power is inside of me. You may question a few things in the catholic church like the powerlessness and the made up stuff that has no basis in scripture but is made up. Example the priesthood of the catholic church is no found in scripture in it current form. Yeat we have 40 chapters on the livitical order and 4 on the priesthood of belivers. But not a word on the priesthood of the catholic church. That should get you attention. No woman priest. But in the old testiment we have woman prophets and kings and woman serving in all manner of position. So that would make God contrary if the priesthood of the catholic was right. Also there is the fact of Mary worship in the catholic church. And it indeed is mary worship. But the bible states all honor and all glory belongs to God alone. Mary is not God! Like I said get a good bible and study and ask Jesus to show you how to serve him. He has the ability to answer you. My sheep hear my Voice. Not hearing Jesus then you be not his sheep.
