Hello, If you have already received first communion, all you need to do is receive sacramental absolution thru confession. One of my sisters was gone from the Church for over 25 yrs. She went to confession and was in communion again. Welcome home. Pax ChristiCatholics I need advice.?

Catholic parishes offer Reconciliation on Saturday afternoons from 3pm to 4pm. You can go then. One of the first things you'll tell the priest how long it's been since your last confession. If you need the priest to help guide you through the rest of the Sacrament.

All you need to know is the Mass times. Just show up to Mass on time and that's that. You don't need to go with a friend, you'll find plenty of friends already there.

Start going to Mass.
You were just baptized a Catholic but yet you were receiving communion until 5 years ago? You shouldn't have been doing that. If you need reconciliation, just go up to the local parish and make an appointment with a priest to do it or call if that's easier. Talk to him about it. You can just show up and stand in the back. It's like the movies; you don't have to talk to anyone. I don't know how you would find a friend to go with where you are, but if you have a neighbor or somebody nearby, you could ask them if you could tag along. Only a real jerk with say no.
All you need to do is call the Church and find out the hours for hearing confessions there and go and do it.I was away from the Church for thirty yrs and went to confession. They will be very kind and considerate just start out your confession stating how long since your last confession and the Priest will help you through it. As for online what a goof ball the Church does not do divorces only marriage and annulments. Confirmation is not a absolute requirement in order to receive the body and blood of Christ. The Priest will answer all your questions in the confessional unless you go to his office and Visit. Going with a friend is good but i'd rather just me and Jesus do it alone...
Were you confirmed? If so, then go to reconciliation, confess your sins of the last five years (cliff notes them into a ten-commandment style breakdown so you are not there the whole day) ESPECIALLY the missing of Mass. If you are absolved, and make sure to ask: you are free to take communion.

If you were not confirmed and are now an adult, call the Parish and join RCIA. Official meetings will begin in Autumn. You can be confirmed next Easter Vigil and are then free to take the Eucharist.

If you are not confirmed but are younger than 18, do the same as suggested above -- go to confession, and then sign up for CCD Confirmation Prep/Youth Group.

Your priest will best be able to decide how you should move forward. You don't need a friend to attend with you! Just go talk to your priest after the next Mass, or try and catch him in the office.

God Bless, and Welcome Home.

Buena Paschal
i'm a little confused - you said the other day your mom was baptist?!

why do you need someone with you to attend the Mass? just go and participate - that's the only way to get involved. if you would like to participate you also have yet to make your Communion and Confirmation.
Just go to reconciliation and then you can receive communion. Get a ride with a friend, perhaps and try to go to church from now on. :o)

Peace be with you +
Contact the church about a ride buddy, see if someone in your neighbour hood is going too. If you fear you have committed a sin, ask God for forgiveness or go to confession
make an appointment with your priest for confession, check the timetable of your church, and take it from there , it's like falling off a bike
call the preist at the nearist Catholic church.
YOUR BEST FRIEND JESUS CHRIST IS THERE WAITING FOR YOU IN THE EUCHARIST,JUST GO AND WELCOME HOME!! GOD BLESS!!
talk 2 a priest and go 2 confession b4 u can reseave communion again PS online needs 2 get a life and hav some respect!
You can get in the habit of propagating Mary's rosary. See promise #12 below. Mary understands that you want to be at Mass, and, as the Mediatrix of All Graces, what God requires, she grants. Or better yet, pray the rosary.

The rosary is explained here:

http://www.medjugorje.org/rosary.htm

The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:

1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.

2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.

6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.

9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.

14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.

15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

God bless!
