I'm thinking of going from protestant to Catholic. I'm 13 BTW. Any advice?

I can't stand most protestant churches.I'm thinking of going from protestant to Catholic. I'm 13 BTW. Any advice?
The Catholic Church is the church that Jesus established.Make an appointment with the priest at your local parish he will guide you from there.God bless you and welcome to the one true faith. I will say a prayer for you Good luck.I'm thinking of going from protestant to Catholic. I'm 13 BTW. Any advice?
Well, just because you like something doesn't mean much. But, I definitley agree. I'm atheist, and Catholocism makes more sense to me (Judaism making the most), but go to your local Catholic church and have a preist guide you, maybe go with a friend or a sibling or a parent so you won't feel as intimidated (the last Catholic church I went to was haaaauge). Best of Luck
Hi there Rowan,

I think you are forgetting something. As a young person, full of faith, it seems; you are filled with a great heart to continue searching your understanding of God.

But, there is a word to keep in mind through all this changing you're doing and it really doesn't have anything to do with Protestantism, or Catholicism. That word says: ';Seek you first the kingdom of Heaven';.

So, all these ';kinds'; of churches doesnt matter, because they had better all be teaching that message. They were instructed by angels to do so (See ';Letters to the Churches'; Revelation 2 - 3).

Just keep it in mind.

Hi Rowan,

Have you been going to a Catholic Church? If so, feel free to approach the priest or deacon and inquire about religious education classes. I converted to Catholicism about 5 years ago, and am still involved with the RCIA team...and I LOVE being able to ask questions about the faith that would have been viewed as ';threatening'; in some other faith traditions!

If you haven't already been going to a catholic church, you can inquire by telephone.

p.s. I really like what the other answerer said ';seek first the kingdom of god';, and that's, hopefully, what we are all doing!

Good Luck, and see ya' at Mass!
Just go to a Catholic church and talk to a priest. He will guide you to Join. But remember that If you follow the rules, it is hard to be a Catholic. It is the denomination that has not changed the bible to suit their needs, like Protestants. I hope you do join and think you are choosing the right path, especially being so young.
The only reason to change your religion should be salvation. What must you do to be saved? Realize your sins are sins against a holy God, then repent - turn away from your sins - and ask forgiveness. Put your faith and trust in Christ alone as your Lord and Savior.

Many churches are not really Christian. They do not teach the fundamentals of Christianity. Rather, they teach nonsense. Many are feel-good churches, like Joel Osteen's and Rick Warren's. Many are just wacky, like the Word of Faith churches.

Go to this site, find an alumni of The Master's Seminary, and whether he's a pastor or just a member, the church will most likely be a solid, Bible-based, Christ-centered church:

Catholicism offers you ';Christ plus.'; They believe they must work their way to Heaven. Christ says no one can work their way to Heaven. To even try is an insult to Him and His work on the cross.

Listen to this great Christian radio program several times and even call in with your question before you dive into ';save myself'; Catholicism:

Eternal salvation is the most important thing you can find. You get this through God's grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Nothing you do will get you there. The Bible says so. The Catholic church begs to differ, but they are not God.
Remember that God has created all living things, and Gods laws has changed so many times to benefit the greed's of mankind. Ask God for permission to be surrounded by the real spirits of God, because people in church always have to ask for forgiveness because they sin everyday.... even when christians think that they are good... so take your time ok.... God is our worlds and the universes, and God leaves no races behind.....
I've been on a spirtiual journey myself. But Yeah if you think it's the right choice go for it and if it doesn't feel right do something else until it feels right for you :)
How about you look for evidence instead of looking for superstitious nonsense
If Catholic ';believe'; inspires you the most, then try it.
Or look for evidence for any god?
