Catholics what advice would you give to somebody who is 2 weeks away from being confirmed?

In the Catholic Church?Catholics what advice would you give to somebody who is 2 weeks away from being confirmed?
Being confirmed means becoming a soldier for Christ, so be ready to stand up for what you believe and spread the word whenever possible, congratulations baby I'm proud of you =)Catholics what advice would you give to somebody who is 2 weeks away from being confirmed?
dont bloody do it, think about it, do you really want to tie yourself to an institution with the history of the catholic church. give it a few years, think about the universe a bit before you get confirmed, hopefully life will change your mind.

[edit] - 'look up james 2:24 now', i am not anti-catholic, i am anti-organised religion on principle, and despise the indoctrination of young people into the faith of their parents.
Honestly this person is already confirmed mentally - so I would suggest refocusing on their school work, and preparing for college/university; talking to counselors, banks, financial aid, touring near by campuses. Figuring out from the millions of careers what careers actually interest as reality to focus on.

2 weeks is nothing compared to a lifetime of being an adult in their community.

Congrats to your friend (or yourself?)

Big step leaving childhood and entering adulthood.

Peace!
Welcome home!

Go to confession and be clean to the Lord when you present yourself to Him.

Pray for the Holy Spirit to enliven your heart, and open you to all of God's graces and blessings. Pray every day until you're confirmed.

I would like also, to give you advice for AFTER confirmation. Never stop learning the Faith. I was confirmed 3 years ago, and to this day I still try to learn as much as I can about the Church. The reason is because the more we know about our faith, the more we know about God and the closer we grow to Him. I have many books on the Faith I've read already, and many more I'm going to read. The Church is 2,000 years old; I don't think I'll ever absorb all the wisdom and truth she has to teach me, but I don't care. I'll happily spend the rest of my life trying.

Again, so glad you're being confirmed. I will pray for u, and hope it is one of the most blessed times of your life.

God bless.
Just stay focused on what you need to do, continue to pray, and listen to what God is trying to say to you. The time right before you make a huge commitment to the Church is always the hardest, because that is when you will truly be tested and tempted. Even Christ was tempted. Being Catholic has brought so much joy and purpose to my life, I pray you find the same happiness! God bless you!
Pray %26amp; thank God that you are recieving a sacrament instituted by Christ %26amp; passed down to us by His apostles. To those of us who believe, no explaination is necessary; to those who do not believe no explanation will ever suffice.

PAX TECUM. May the peace of the Lord be always with you

%26amp;remain forever.
(1) Don't listen to anti-Catholics like ';Scouse'; and such.

(2) Pray to the Holy Spirit

(3) Really look into your faith and know what being Catholic is all about...

being part of Christ's true Church is great!
Welcome him to the true Church!

Tell him to continue his spiritual formation by attending recollections, retreats, etc. He should also get involved in the life and mission of the parish.
Make sure its really what you want to do. If it is, go for it, good luck. there's nothing to be afraid of or concerned about. Make sure you go to confession beforehand and make sure you choose your sponsor wisely
Hope the bishop isn't overly enthusiastic.

Or have they dropped the tap on the cheek?

I always wanted to see the bishop give someone a really good smack when I was young. Never happened, though.
well, remember when the spirit came down on the apostles in tongues of fire? It is the same exact thing, without the show of miracle. But it will strengthen you, making you into a soldier for Christ.
Pray and study. God Bless You and Congratulations!
Steal some of that wine for me, will you?
Good luck.
Go to confession first.
Pay attention ... and stay out of trouble!
